In a significant development for Ladakh’s tourism sector, the region’s major tourism bodies came together in a joint meeting on Thursday to reaffirm unity, coordination, and collective action for the sustainable growth of tourism in Ladakh.
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the All Ladakh Hotel and Guest House Association (ALHAGHA), All Ladakh Adventure and Tour Operators Association (ALATOA), All Ladakh Taxi Operators Cooperative Ltd, Ladakh Maxi Cab Cooperative Society Ltd, and Ladakh Bike Rental Cooperative Ltd.
During the meeting, all associations unanimously agreed to appoint Mr. Tsetan Angchuk as the Chairperson of the Ladakh Travel Trade Alliance (LTTA) for a period of two years from today.
The decision reflects a joint commitment by Ladakh’s tourism stakeholders to move forward with unity and a common vision at a time when the sector is facing both internal transitions and external challenges. The associations stressed that strong coordination and mutual trust are essential to protect livelihoods, ensure fair practices, and strengthen Ladakh’s position as a responsible and resilient tourism destination.
According to the joint understanding, the leadership move aims to improve coordination among tourism bodies, present a united voice before the government and policy-making institutions, promote sustainable and responsible tourism practices, and support the long-term revival and growth of Ladakh’s tourism economy.
The associations also reaffirmed that the Ladakh Travel Trade Alliance will continue to serve as an important platform to align efforts, address concerns, and chart a progressive path for the tourism industry in the region.
With this collective decision, all participating bodies have pledged to work in close cooperation, set aside differences, and prioritize the larger interest of Ladakh’s tourism sector and the communities that depend on it.
