The ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel have significantly impacted international air travel, forcing Indian airlines to cancel more than 350 international flights on March 1, according to reports.
India’s Civil Aviation Ministry has issued an advisory as several air routes passing through West Asian airspace remain restricted due to security concerns. Airlines have been instructed to prioritise passenger safety while coordinating closely with aviation authorities.
Officials stated that flight operations have been affected mainly because airlines are avoiding conflict-zone airspace, leading to longer routes, operational challenges, and cancellations. Passengers travelling to destinations in the Middle East, Europe, and nearby regions may experience delays, rescheduling, or disruptions.
The government has asked airlines to provide proper assistance, refunds, or alternative travel arrangements to affected passengers.
Travel experts warn that if tensions continue, global aviation schedules may face further disruptions in the coming days.
Passengers are advised to check flight status with airlines before leaving for airports.
